A diverse selection of six powerful short films from emerging young film-makers, this program includes three award-winning films from the 2023 Heart of Gold International Film Festival:
Voice Activated (comedy/Australia), directed by Steve Anthopoulos, winner of the Audience Choice Award.
Dipped in Black (drama/Australia), directed by Matthew Thorne, winner of the Best Australian Short Film, sponsored by Noosa Film Society.
Nothing Holier Than a Dolphin, (drama/Greece), directed by Isabella Margara, winner of the Best Short Film, sponsored by Noosa Film Society.
Plus a selection of Australian films, produced and directed by Queensland film-makers:
Shullbit (comedy) directed by Jarrah Marchio, past graduate of Noosa District State High School and recent graduate of Bachelor of Film at Griffith Film School. NFS supports NDSHS’s Film, Television and New Media module for Years 11 and 12.
Three Sketches from Vietnam (observational documentary) filmed and produced by Arnold Kopff, whose award winning short film By Longboat to Samkar was screened by NFS last year.
The Stripper Trade-off (comedy), directed by Stephen Walker, category winner, Sunny Coast Showdown
