NFS members are invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Noosa Film Society on Sunday 20 October.
Tickets are available from Thursday 10 October (allocated seating) from Noosa 5 cinema box office, on a first come, first serve basis.
Members can attend one or both of our two special screenings:

Screening Two – Camino Skies
To accommodate as many members as possible, please consider selecting one screening to attend! We expect a full house for both.
Separate tickets will be issued for each screening. Each ticket includes attending celebrations for that screening. This is a members only event; tickets are free.

Forty years ago Gillian Murray, astrologer and champion of cultural activities in Noosa, founded the Noosa Film Society, along with a small committee of like minded film enthusiasts. The first screening on 4 October 1979 of the American-German film Alice of the Cities was both a novelty and a success. The following screening, the controversial Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, was indeed less well received and almost lost the Society half its membership of 50 film enthusiasts!
Over the past forty years, the Society has grown to over 2000 members, arguably the largest membership of any film society in Australia and has found a comfortable home at Noosa 5 cinemas, where it screens over 30 films a year.
