When Antonio pops the question to his boyfriend Paolo in their Berlin apartment just before Easter, things take an awkward turn. It becomes apparent that Antonio has not come out to his parents. Whilst he is not entirely sure about their reaction, the pair decides to head home to Italy to break the news and plan their big day. Antonio’s mother is immediately supportive but only if the wedding meets her expectations and is officiated by the town mayor who happens to be Antonio’s staid father.

Voted the audience favourite at the Lavazza Italian Film Festival.

Reviews

This movie is easy on the eye – the people, the location, Miccio’s pinstripes – and also a lot of fun.” Stephen Romei, The Australian.

“The scenery and cinematography of Antonio’s rural hometown, the little dying town of Civita, is visually beautiful and the music is also terrific.” –  May Cross, Weekend Notes.

“This is a film that runs on miracles — where all conflicts are eventually smoothed over and all difficulties dispelled as if by the wave of a magic wand.” –  Jake Wilson, The Age.
